Day 1:
Your tour starts with an early transfer to Zanzibar Airport, followed by a domestic flight to Seronera airstrip, located in the heart of the legendary Serengeti. The park is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). But also a lot of other species such as giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species can be spotted in the vast national park.
Within half an hour of disembarkation of the aircraft, you will be in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, ready for the first game drive of your unique adventure!
Day 2:
A full day to explore the legendary Serengeti – catch up on the wildlife you missed on the first day! One of the most famous natural events in the world, the Great Migration, occurs in the Serengeti. This annual movement of over a million wildebeests and other herbivores, accompanied by predators, is a breathtaking spectacle as they traverse the plains and cross rivers in search of food and water. Our English speaking guides are very knowledgeable on flora and fauna and will plot a route according to the Great Migration animal patterns.
After dinner you can embark on an optional night game drive. A spotlight is fitted to the vehicle and before you know it you catch the first reflections of the animals’ eyes. The night is another world altogether out there, interesting action of the nocturnal animals, different shades and shadows and unknown sounds. Typical animals of the night are Springhares (a nocturnal animal that looks like a cross between a kangaroo and a rabbit), Bushbabies, civets and genet cats, a rare Aardvark or Porcupine and others.
Day 3:
Today you will admire the breathtaking scenery of the Serengeti from above with a hot air balloon Safari. This popular excursion is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
You will be picked up at Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma Lodge around 04:45 and taken to the launch site for a sunrise take-off. After a beautiful flight of approximately 1 hour, you will be toasted with champagne upon landing and then served a ‘full English’ breakfast under a tree before being taken back to your Safari guide at a prearranged location. For optimal enjoyment, children from the age of five years and above are admitted. After this excicting adventure your guide will bring you back to the Seronera airstrip in central Serengeti for your return flight to Zanzibar.
